Cruz Law was founded by Jason Cruz, an experienced trial lawyer and passionate advocate who focuses exclusively on family law and criminal defense. Jason represents clients facing serious criminal charges as well as complex family law matters, including divorce, child custody, domestic violence, and protection orders. He entered the legal profession with a desire to help people navigate some of the most difficult and consequential moments of their lives. Jason earned his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law, where he was actively involved in public interest organizations.

Before founding Cruz Law, Jason developed extensive courtroom and litigation experience as a public defender and family law associate. His criminal defense experience includes high-stakes cases involving murder charges, the Colorado Organized Crime Control Act (COCCA), serious felony offenses, and cases prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office. He has secured numerous not-guilty verdicts for his clients at trial. In his family law practice, Jason assists clients with the many legal and practical issues that can arise during and after the breakdown of a relationship, including divorce, property and debt division, parental responsibilities, parenting time, child support, spousal maintenance, domestic violence, and protection orders. His experience in both criminal defense and family law provides a valuable perspective when these areas of law intersect, particularly in cases involving domestic violence, criminal allegations, protection orders, and disputes concerning children. Jason is known for his determined courtroom advocacy while providing clients with practical, realistic, and solution-oriented counsel. His reputation for effective advocacy has earned him recognition by Best Lawyers® as a "One to Watch."

Jason believes effective representation begins with listening. From the initial consultation through the resolution of a case, he takes the time to understand each client's concerns, goals, and expectations and to identify the strengths and weaknesses of their position. His approachable personality and strong communication skills help clients feel comfortable asking questions and actively participating in their cases, while his courtroom experience allows him to remain focused and effective when negotiations or proceedings become challenging. Jason is committed to making the legal process understandable to his clients and providing them with the information and insight they need to make informed decisions about their futures. Outside of the courtroom, Jason enjoys volunteering, snowboarding, following sports, and finding new activities and hobbies to pursue.
